SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio

Theft from building: Warrensville Center Road

A man, 80, reported Aug. 16 that his walker had been stolen while he was shopping at Walmart. He said it had been left by the automated grocery carts and was gone when he returned for it.

Property damage: Charlton Road

A mailbox at the corner of Felton Road was found knocked over Aug. 11, but still connected to its concrete base. It appeared to have been struck by an unknown object. The postal service was advised so it could make repairs.

Burglary: Wilmington Road

A resident reported Aug. 14 that two bicycles had been stolen from his garage. The incident is under investigation.

Fraud: Argonne Road

A resident reported Aug. 13 that he was the victim of a scam when applying for a data entry job with an online company.

He was sent a check for $4,000 and advised to deposit it into his bank account and return the deposit slip as proof. The man’s bank flagged the check and is handling an initial fraud investigation.

Receiving stolen property: Sherwood Road

Officers responded Aug. 14 to a report of an erratic driver racing at high speeds around Quilliams and Princeton roads. They located the vehicle and learned that it had been stolen out of Michigan. The driver, an 18-year-old South Euclid resident, was subsequently charged with receiving stolen property.

Theft of vehicle: South Green Road

The owner of G&S Auto Repair and Sales reported Aug. 14 that a U-Haul truck and trailer had been rented by a Richmond Heights man. He never returned it. A warrant was issued for the arrest of the man, 29, for theft.

Theft: Warrensville Center Road

Walmart loss prevention detained three shoplifters at the store Aug. 18. A total of $181 worth of merchandise was recovered, including clothing and alcohol.

Two 18-year-old Cleveland women were charged with the theft. The third suspect, a Cleveland girl, will be filed on in juvenile court.

Criminal damage: Sheffield Road

A resident reported at 3 a.m. Aug. 16 that someone had just broken out the rear bathroom window on his home. It was learned that someone had thrown a tire iron through the lower windowpane.

The suspect was seen leaving the area in a vehicle but was not located or identified.
