The Team: You will work closely with a team of more than 300 editors and journalists around the world. We’re the foremost provider of essential intelligence for the capital and commodities markets. This position is part of the Technology, Media and Telecom group, which includes a veteran editorial staff dedicated to producing in-depth reporting and analysis in all of our sectors, in line with the highest standards of journalistic excellence.

The Impact: Your content reaches an influential readership that includes the major players at media and entertainment conglomerates, pay TV and broadband providers, online video outfits, software companies, as well as leading global financial institutions. Responsibilities:

  • Cover federal agencies that regulate media, telecom and information technology companies as well as legislative committees with oversight of these sectors
  • Report breaking news and produce enterprise stories about how regulatory and legal decisions impact the nation’s major tech companies such as Google, Facebook and Apple, and how the companies interact with decision makers on issues such as net neutrality, consumer privacy, cybersecurity, media ownership and the role of social media.
  • Write enterprise stories on key developments within your beat
  • Integrate related data and analysis and partner with research analysts to uncover emerging industry trends
  • Collaborate with colleagues across teams and countries
  • Develop relationships with existing sources and build a network of contacts

What We’re Looking For
Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in journalism, communications or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of professional journalism experience
  • Knowledge of the communications, media and information technology industries a big advantage
  • Knowledge of federal and state agency process and policy, as well as legislative procedures a plus
  • Ability to write quickly and clearly under deadline pressure
  • Ability to generate exclusives, breaking news as well as informative feature stories
  • Command of journalistic standard methodology (AP style, libel issues, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills
